Winter Sheath

Wind
Ice
Cold
Rain

Darkness
Light takes stage
Future unfolds

Ice fingers dangle
Pink with cold
Pricked and worn

Gloves, hats
Perched
No match for the temperature.

Spring releasing winters noose
Whispering hope
Into longing ears.
