Lost In Thought
Standing by waters edge,
I lose my focus of what is here.
Colors dark and rich like fine chocolate.
My mind swirls, thinking of dark days
turned bright and beautiful.
Nature holds so many secrets we will
never see or hear.
This day though, I reckon beauty in
small places, reaching out to kiss my eyes.
I bow to it and give her wink,
breathing in her majesty.
For it is here, just you and me.

ReplyDeleteYou drank it in and it flowed back out gere. Nice One Shot, Gwen!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone, I appreciate your thoughts and compliments. This has really been an enriching way to learn more about writing and about myself!
ReplyDeleteRelatable, solid work. I suspect many poets, like us, have written similarly- and timelessly-themed works - such a rich universe of takes on Mother Nature. Keep up that goodness, my friend. :)
ReplyDeleteDear Gwen
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed soaking up in the nature with you.. and your words... one has to have perfect eyes like yours to see the beautiful in small things that nature keeps every where all around us...
Thanks for sharing..
