The Bridge

Strong timber holds me tight.
I walk across to get to you.
I care not how far, but how
long, it will take me to reach you.
I wait, proud to know
such beauty and grace.
Many days pass, the love
for you holds fast.
Steadiness that keeps true,
my intense love for you.

  1. I like the picture and it's proximity to the poem because I could read the poem (several times) and see the image of the bridge. The poem defines the bridge physically but also the longing in a relationship that benefits from the 'bridging together of two lives'...Interesting that although the bridge is made of 'strong timber' it appears to be a little tilted and I sense the relationship is as well. I enjoyed this!
