I stand alone,
facing the day.
Winter's beauty,
looking back my way.
Whispering at the wind,
my every want, my every need,
desires within.
I listen and wait,
ready for the answers to come.
The sun shining down,
leaving traces of me on the ground.
I never look back, feeling it there.
I never regret or hold onto fear.
I leave this silent place, never feeling alone,
happy and comforted by a place near home.
I'm comforted by your poem this morning, Gwen! Glad I've found your blog. :)
ReplyDeletesmiles...sometimes we have to get alone to feel not so alone...you know...those quite times of reflection...i usually go to the wwoods myself...
ReplyDeleteI like this, and the picture that you chose to go with it. One day I found myself behind a car with a bumper sticker that said Never Alone. Turns out it was for Narcotics Anonymous, but I think it could apply in any number of ways.
ReplyDeleteA very affirmative write..strong and beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice you found a place for your solitude.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful words!
