Creosote Rose

Eye of beauty, you help me see.
Darkness and color,
blended together beautifully.
Tar, black, like witch's eyes.
Petals, soft, like baby's cries.
I witness this tenderness,
often discarded like yesterdays trash.
Lie here together, beauty everlast.
A somber moment as I reflect,
on whispered thoughts and new respect.

  2. nice...the blend of light and black...to see both is to have true vision...as is having ones eyes opened...

  3. The color really rings true in the tale you tell, leaving one under your spell. Great verse and nice rhyming too!
