Red Envy

Eyes aglow,
they do show.
Life in color,
held and remembered.

Eyes aglow, once closed.
One person drifting,
among a sea of many.

Wandering the tides,
ebbing they rise,
smiling eyes held high.
Color so bright,
like red apples sliced.

Leaves of splender,
bring delight and wonder.
Even at night, still shining bright.

Imperfections add,
beauty to be had.
Sharp knife turns,
forever shrouded, I burn,
by the color of passion, so thick with fashion.

Deep blood runs, in veins to heart,
swept by color, never want it to stop.
Stoplight shines, no words, just action,
unknowingly, upon this fatal attraction.

Swept by color,
tickled by passion.
Stirring my love,
a hot, fiery reaction.

Heart aglow for this color,
forever taken and shaken,
by red envy, I know.

  6. You certainly know how to reflect the passionate embrace of sensuality. Your poem draws us carefully into your world of deep embrace of the wonder that is in nature and in us.
