I stand near, heart open, eyes wide.
I see the ripples of water, crossing my mind.
They carry me over each blade of grass,
I am happily lost with each rise as they pass.
In the distance I view the work of man,
bringing power along lines on towers, across the land.
Looking out, I am swept by clouds
wispy and white, strewn about the sky.
Trees with dry leaves chatter between
nature's breathy breezes.
Getting lost, letting my spirit run wild,
water crisp and giving for those consuming in time.
Setting all worry and wonder aside,
exploring the landscape with more than my eyes.
Heart finding calm within a fleeting moment,
touching tenderly upon my face, gentle whispers..unspoken.
I fear not the race that life has become.
Letting my soul unravel under the warmth of the sun,
nature is my only witness.
Smiles spread wide, like butter across bread,
bringing new warmth upon me, unrest is dead.
I shed not a tear as I think of all the good
blooming within me.
I open my heart and love wholly,
all those that will let me.
Truly an amazing poem Gwen. "I fear not the race that life has become"...what a great line. I love your blog :)

ReplyDeleteThis emotion seemed like a flood with its oberservations, but a non-destructive flood that melds with man. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteGreat weaving of the soul into the moment, man and the world centering.
