Vanity

In the vanity mirror,
reflected back,
a smile, a frown,
happiness abound.
Many years pass,
wins follow loss,
together we toss.
Sadness made right,
with smiles do pass.
The same lips I see,
reflected back at me,
from mirror and glass.

  3. Terrific. I often write about aging and changing. I live to read others' takes on the topics.

  5. Thank you all very much for your thoughts and comments!

    My thought,

Life is too short not to find time to smile and laugh..and so I do. :)

  6. I love the double-edged meaning of 'vanity mirror' (actual vanity mirror, or just a mirror-glance fuelled by vanity?). Glad to have discovered your poetry today.

  7. Love the wordplay you have used here... 'Vanity mirror' holds so much, cued by the sense of where we are as we look to the reflections of smiles lost.
